Aakash has 20+ years of unique, diverse and global experience. Currently he is the Global CFO of PayU@ Naspers Fintech for the last 2+ years. Payments and Fintech has been the one of the largest investment areas for Naspers group over the last 2 years. With over ~400 Mio USD investments in various businesses. Tripling the business, and turning around a 50% loss making business to profits.
Prior to this, he had been the CFO of Snapdeal, and contributed significantly in the 100X growth of Snapdeal, with $1+ Billion fund raise (4 rounds), 2 bridge financings and multiple acquisitions.
Aakash has worked with ANZ Grindlays Bank, Andersen Consulting (India & London), has been an Entrepreneur, AT&T – USA in Strategy, planning & M&A, Bharti Airtel Group as Executive Assistant to the Chairman & Strategic planning head where he was a part of the project team that concluded the Bharti Walmart Joint Venture, Baring Private Equity taking care of telecom, technology, retail verticals.
He is on the Board of V-Mart Retail Limited as an Independent Director for the last 9 years (from PE investment into the Company to the Company going public), with 20X growth.
He is a Chartered Accountant & Company Secretary (All India Ranks in all exams), an MBA from Southern Methodist University (Dean Scholar) with Beta Gamma Sigma, has completed an Advanced Strategic Management Course from UMich. He has won the CFO Roll of Honor award for two consecutive years (2014 & 2015), given by the CFO Institute.
